Sparkle and Shine

It's Thursday morning again and it's my turn to host the Willow Sketchie Challenge this week. This is the sketch I have for you

and the theme I have chosen for the week is

Sparkle and Shine
I would like to see some glitter, gems, or gloss etc.

Don't forget - you don't have to follow both the sketch and the theme unless you want to, one or the other will do just fine.

I chose this theme to challenge myself as much as everyone else because, as anyone who knows me will be aware, I rarely use glitter on my cards.  This is the card I have made

Fairy Dance has been coloured with a combination of ProMarkers and FlexMarkers, I also coloured some white Seam Binding to match.  I have used Ice Stickles on her wings, around the outside of the image and on the butterfly embellishments.  This is the first time I have ever used stickles and I love them - will now have to buy some more!  There are also some small gems on the butterflies and on her crown that has also had some gloss added.

This is the inside of my card that has been decorated to match the front

Card Recipe:

Card Stock:  Dies To Die For - Kraft
Tools:  Martha Stewart - Edge Punch, Die-namics - Butterfly Die,
Spellbinders - Classic Rectangles
Embellishments:  Seam Binding, gems, brad and Ice Stickles from stash
Sentiment:  LOTV - Sentiment Tags

I would like to enter this card into the following challenges:

Stampalot June Challenge - Bingo (Ribbon/Lace, Polka Dots, Green)
Dream Valley Challenge 35 - Things with Wings
Anything Goes Challenge 70 - Polka Dot with a Birthday Theme

I have used one of the sketches from Sketch n Stash - you get to use your favourite sketch this week.  The papers are a free download from Crafter's Companion (they were for the Royal Wedding last year - I don't think they are available any more) and the image is from Joanna Sheen's Faye Whittaker collection CD.  I punched the red, white and blue flowers with my Punch Bunch punches and secured them with brads.  The sentiment is a combination of stamps from LOTV and everything has been layered onto Core'dinations card stock.

This is the inside of my card:

Patch Flyilng

It's time for some inspiration over at the Crafty Pad today and Estelle and myself are showcasing a couple of Crafty Pad images.

I chose to make a card for a child, something I don't do nearly often enough, it was really fun to make and I am going to make sure I do it more often.

I chose the fab Crafty Pad image 'Patch Flying, I printed him out twice and cut out one image to decoupage him, I always like to have some dimension on my cards.  I inked the sky using a mask for the clouds and coloured him with a combination of ProMarkers and FlexMarkers.  Full details of everything I have used are listed below.

This is the inside of my card that I have decorated to match the front.

You can just about see the Crystal Lacquer that I have added to the little screen on the aeroplane in this photograph.

Bubbles

Good morning, I hope everyone is well and enjoying the new week. We have a new challenge for you at Bearly Mine Designs, this time it's everyone's favourite 'Anything Goes'. This is my card featuring the fab Saturated Canary image 'Bubbles'.

We are sponsored this week by the talented Krista from Saturated Canary

I love these images but I rarely use them because I find the hair a bit daunting.  I started following the sketch over at CLP but stopped half way through because I just couldn't make it work for me.  The papers are both from one of the Bearly Mine Designs Designer Extreme CD's, I'm sorry I don't know which one because I just loaded them all onto my laptop and grouped them by colour.

I punched the edges of the centre panel with my FrisKars edge punch, attached two LOTV sentiment tags with a small white flower brad and glazed the bubbles.  The only other embellishment is a small glittered flower with a gem in the centre - I spent about and hour trying to find some other embellishments, but nothing seemed to look right, so I just kept it simple.

I have decorated the inside of my card to complement the front:

I would like to enter this card into the following challenges:

Hedgehog Harry

Good morning everyone, I hope you are all having a lovely weekend. It's time for a new challenge over at The Crafty Pad Challenge Blog and our theme this week is 'More than one fold'. It's team A providing the inspiration this time and I have made a gate fold card:

I used The Crafty Pad - Hedgehog Harry in Circle of Flowers image, I printed the complete image several times because I wanted one for the front and another for the inside, I also wanted to decoupage the flowers.  I then cropped the flowers and reduced them so that I could use them to decorate the corners, these have also been decoupaged.  I decided to use lovely bright colours for the flowers and used my ProMarkers.

On the inside of my card, I have cut away Hedgehog Harry and stamped a sentiment, I then decoupaged the flowers to match the front:

Our fab sponsor this week is Joanna Sheen with £10 to spend in her online store

The big event ......

My sixteen year old son and his girl friend are at their school prom tonight.  The girls have been getting ready all day, Matt just had is normal shower and threw a suit on - that's boys for you - at least his tie matches!

This is about the best photograph hubby managed to get before they left, I do hope they all enjoy themselves.

As usual he managed to chop the top of Matt's head off.  I still can't believe he has finished school and will be going to college next year.

More cake!

It's Thursday morning again and it's time for another Willow Sketchie Challenge, I have made a card with more cakes on it - I'm trying to make cards with them rather than eating them, it will never last.

I've gone CAS again and just followed the theme - Bright and Bold - provided for us this week by Kelly.  When I asked my husband if he thought my card was Bright and Bold, he replied "It is for you", so I took that as a yes!

This is Kelly's sketch:

You don't have to follow both the sketch and the theme unless you want to, one or the other will do just fine.

I have just used images from the embellishments section on the Polly Pickleberry CD and two of the greetings, I copied them all into word and cropped and re-sized them.  I cut them out with my Spellbinders Standard Circles die and layered them onto Scalloped Circle die cut bases, I tried to arrange them randomly but I'm not sure it quite worked.  The card stock is some scraps from my stash and I have decorated the inside of my card to complement the front.

I apologise for the poor quality of the photographs, but I am really struggling with the light at the moment, the colours really are a lot brighter in real life.

I would like to enter this card into the following challenges:

Sweet 'n' Sassy Digi Challenge 58 - CAS with 2 layers
Card Crafter's Circle Challenge 27 - Feeling Sentimental - Sentiments
ATC's and Cards with Attitude Challenge 16 - Anything Goes

Crafty Sentiments Challenge - Bright Colours
Daisy Doodles Creative Challenge 62 - Anything Goes
Paper Playtime Challenge 77 - Anything Goes plus add a Sentiment

Make sure you pop over to the Willow Sketchie Challenge Blog and have a look at the DT inspiration, you have until 20:00 hrs on Wednesday 27th June to enter and the prize is a voucher to spend in the Willow Designs Store. Don't forget you can either follow the sketch and/or the theme.

We are also having a DT call, so why don't you come and join us, you will get to play with lots of fab Willow Designs images.

Thank you for visiting today.

bottom to finish.

The inside of my card has also been decorated to match the front.

I would like to enter this card into the following challenges:

I have used one of the fab stamps from the new Polly Pickleberry A6 Stamp Collections called 'Eat Cake' available from the Willow Designs Store and made a CAS card.  I stamped the image three times with dusty concord Distress Ink and the sentiment once using the same ink.  I cut them all out using my Spellbinders Classic Square die and then mounted them onto some purple (my favourite colour) Core'dinations card stock.  They are then layered onto white card stock and another matt of purple Core'dinations.

As usual I have decorated the inside of my card to complement the front:

This is Hazel's sketch:

and she has chosen the theme: Favourite Colour Combination

You might have noticed that we are now choosing a Top 3 as well as the randomly drawn winner.  The hostess for the week will choose her Top 3 and they can have this fab badge to display on their blog:
